Otaki Morning Market Location: Isumi Shrine (Otaki Town)
Every May, the citizens of Otaki hold a morning market near the Isumi Shrine. About 30 vendors set up shop and display various natural produces grown in Otaki. Prices are about 20 to 30 percent cheaper than normal stores, and the atmosphere is lively with tourist and locals alike. For more information, please contact the Otaki Town Hall (TEL: 04-7082-2196).

Biwa Club, Biwa Picking! Location: Michi no Eki Tomiura Biwa Club (Minami Boso)
Take a trip to Minami Boso, Tomiura’s Michi no Eki and bask in the greatness that is Biwa! Enjoy a 30 minute all you can eat Biwa picking blur of excitement with family and friends. The price to participate will be 2,500 yen until May 28, and then will drop down to 2,100 yen from then on. Don’t miss out on this Biwa-tastic time! Mini Exhibit “Tango no Seku” Exhibit Location: Folk History Museum
Becoming an annual custom, the Folk History Museum’s Mini Exhibition will take place again this year. The first showing of the fiscal year will happen on the same day as Boy’s Festival, during which time many flags, armor decorations, and Kintaro dolls on loan from locals will be on display. Come and see the new additional armor dating back to the 1930s. Admission is free of charge for Kamogawa citizens and students. Regular cost is 200 yen. For adults, 150 yen for students. Kodomo no hi Tanoshimikai Location: Child Care General Support Center
Enjoy the celebration of Children’s Day with the support team at the Child Care General Support Center! This fun filled event is geared towards infants and their guardians. Chiba Prefecture Jumbo Pumpkin Tournament Location: Minnami no Sato
The application acceptance process for the official 3rd Chiba Prefecture Jumbo Pumpkin Tournament of 2012 has started. This year, Dill’s Atlantic Giant seeds will be distributed and planted. Seeds will only be distributed on May 3. Also, a class on how to plant pumpkin seeds will take place on May 3, from 10:00am~noon. This tournament will surely bring jumbo fun for everyone! Tokyo Big 6 Baseball League Watching Tour Location: Jingu Stadium (Tokyo)
The Tokyo Big 6 Baseball Spring League Committee will host a watching tour. Participants will be able to watch Hosei University and Waseda University go head-to-head. There is a 20 person participant limit, and the cost for one is 4,000 yen. A bus at 7:30am will depart from the City Hall parking lot and arrive around 11:00am at Jingu Stadium. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible. Both Universities have made a second home out of Kamogawa, so show your friendly support! Let’s Learn About UNICEF ~UNICEF Café~ Location: Furusato Theatre (In front of the Amatsu-Kominato Kominkan) The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was created by the United Nations General Assembly to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. Now, over 60 years later, come and see the services that they have been providing for children all over the world. Admission is free of charge. Be sure to bring your children as well!
