Nov. 8th – Sister City Agreement Ceremony
Manitowoc Mayor Kevin Crawford and eleven delegates come to Kamogawa to participate in the Sister City Agreement Signing Ceremony.
Dec. 9th – Emi Jr. High Creates a Sister City Corner
Emi Jr. High School establishes a Sister City Corner and displays
pamphlets from Manitowoc and picture from Manitowoc’s landscape and Sister City greement Signing Ceremony.
Dec. 14th – Christmas Cards
First-grade students at Emi Jr. High send fifty-one hand-made Christmas cards to Mayor Crawford to be delivered to jr. high students in Manitowoc.
Dec. 16th – Greeting Cards
Mayor Honda and the City Council Chairman send Christmas cards to members of the Manitowoc delegation that visited Kamogawa in November.
Jan. 21st – Greeting Cards
Hiroshima native Atsumi Takana’s Japanese classes at four Manitowoc elementary schools create and send eighty-six greeting cards to Kamogawa Elementary.
Feb. 4th – Greeting Cards
Sixth graders at Kamogawa Elementary School send greeting cards to students at Manitowoc’s elementary schools.
Feb. 5th – T-shirts
Kamogawa receives a number of t-shirts depicting a dairy farm and Wisconsin State from Mayor Crawford for the purpose of promoting Manitowoc in Japan.
June 3rd〜7th – Manitowoc Music and Culture Exchange Delegation Visits Kamogawa
The Clipper City String Band (four members) visits Kamogawa and performs at Kamogawa’s Annual Sea Festa. The band also performs at three senior citizen centers and Kamogawa Mirai High School.
Oct. 1st〜8th – Civil Servant Exchange
Ten teachers and civil servants from Kamogawa visits Manitowoc and learn about Manitowoc’s public facilities and city administration.
Oct. 2nd〜9th – 1st Kamogawa Citizens’ Delegation Visits Manitowoc
To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Sister City relationship, fifty-five delegates visit Manitowoc and New Orleans to foster mutual friendship and understanding.
Oct. 28th〜Nov.1st – Manitowoc Children’s Art Exchange
Manitowoc sends Kamogawa fifty-five works of art by Manitowoc’s elementary, jr. high, and high school students. Paintings focus on the everyday life and culture of Manitowoc. Paintings are displayed in Kamogawa’s shopping center, Flore Kamogawa, City Gallery, and Kamogawa’s elementary schools.
Early March – Kamogawa Children’s Art Exchange
Kamogawa students send Manitowoc ninety-eight works of art to be displayed in Manitowoc’s Rahr-West Museum.
June 16th〜22nd – Manitowoc Music Delegation Visits Kamogawa
Manitowoc’s performance band, Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, performs concerts in Kamogawa, Togane, Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo’s Arakawa Ward. Delegates participate in a Kamogawa festival, and other aspects of Japanese culture such as tea ceremony and flower arranging.
June 18th〜30th – Three Manitowoc Educators Visit Kamogawa
While staying with home-stay families, three delegates visit Kamogawa’s schools and facilities and learn about Japanese culture. Kamogawa and Manitowoc educators hold a forum to discuss education issues.
July 26th〜Aug. 4th – Student Exchange Program
Six high school students from Manitowoc stay wit host families, tour city facilities, and learn about Kamogawa’s history and culture.
Sept. 27th〜Oct. 1st – 8th Street Bridge Dedication Ceremony
Kamogawa Mayor Honda, KIRA President Sakai and Vice President Aihara attend the dedication ceremony of the 8th Street Bridge with members of the Civil Servant Exchange Delegation.
Nov. 3rd〜5th – Kamogawa’s 25th Annual Culture Day Exhibition at Civic Hall
Seventy-two works of art created by Manitowoc students are displayed.
Jan. 23rd〜30th – Nagasa Elementary/Jr. High School Art Exhibition at City Gallery
Seventy-two works of arts created by Manitowoc students are displayed with artworks of Kamogawa elementary and jr. high students.
June 14th〜18th – Manitowoc Educator and Student Exchange to Kamogawa
Lincoln High School teacher Jaci Collins and Kelly Michaelis visit Kamogawa with three students, stay with host families, and practice calligraphy and other Japanese cultural arts at Nagasa High school.
July 24th〜Aug. 10th – Student Exchange Program
Between July 24th and Aug. 2nd, six students from Manitowoc stay with host families, tour city facilities, and learn about Kamogawa’s history culture. Between Aug. 2nd and Aug. 10th, six students from Kamogawa travel to Manitowoc and experience similar activities.
Aug. 23rd〜29th – Kamogawa Junior Chorus Visits Manitowoc
Fifty-six members of the Kamogawa Junior Chorus visit Manitowoc to foster understanding and friendship through music. While in Manitowoc, the chorus performs with Lakeshore Wind Ensemble.
Sept. 30th〜Oct. 9th – Civil Servant Exchange
Ten teachers and civil servants from Kamogawa visit Manitowoc to learn about Manitowoc’s public facilities and city administration.
Oct. 24th〜27th – Manitowoc Student Art Exhibition
Seventy works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with artworks by Kamogawa students on the 4th floor of shopping center, Kamogawa Flore.
Nov. 2nd〜4th – 26th Annual Culture Day Exhibition at Civic Hall
Seventy works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with Kamogawa student art.
Jan. 22nd〜28th - Nagasa Elementary/Jr. High Craft Exhibition at City Gallery
Seventy-two works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with artworks and crafts by elementary and jr. high students from Kamogawa City.
May 6th〜11th – 1st Manitowoc Citizens’ Delegation Visits Kamogawa
Mayor Crawford and fifty-eight delegates visit Kamogawa and stay at the Boyoso Inn, Grand Hotel, or with host families. Delegates tour the city, experience a tea ceremony, learn about flower arranging, and participate in a Kamogawa festival.
July 22nd〜Aug. 9th – Student Exchange Program
Six high school students from both cities spend 10 days in the sister city. Students stay with host families, tour city facilities, and learn about sister city’s culture and history.
Sept. 29th〜Oct. 7th – Civil Servant Exchange
Ten teachers and civil servants from Kamogawa visit Manitowoc and learn about Manitowoc’s public facilities and city administration.
Oct. 18th〜25th – 2nd Kamogawa Citizens’ Delegation Visits Manitowoc
Mayor Honda and fifty-six delegates visit Manitowoc. While staying with a host family or at a hotel, delegates the city and donate twenty cherry trees to the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc. Delegates make onigiri and sushi for their hosts using rice that the Manitowoc Delegation had planted during their May visit.

Jan. 29th〜Feb.3rd – Nagasa Elementary/Jr. High Craft Exhibition at City Gallery
Seventy works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with artworks by elementary and jr. high students from Kamogawa City.
June 17th〜24th – Manitowoc Junior Chorus Visits Kamogawa
Fifty members of Manitowc’s Junior Chorus visit Kamogawa and tour city facilities and temples while learning about everyday life and culture with home stay families. The chorus performs several at Nanso Bunka Hall, Tokyo Disneyland, and a joint concert with Nagasa High School Chorus.
July 22nd〜Aug. 9th - Student Exchange Program
Six Manitowoc high school students and eight Kamogawa students participate in the summer annual exchange program. Students learn about sister city’s culture and history through tours of city facilities.

Five students from Manitowoc and six students from Kamogawa visit Kamogawa and Manitowoc, respectively, to learn about sister city’s culture and history.
Sept. 10th〜15th – 2nd Manitowoc Citizens’ Delegation Visits
Kamogawa
Twenty-two delegates from Manitowoc visit Kamogawa, tour city facilities, and participate in Kamogawa’s Godosai festival and Jumbo Pumpkin Contest, thereby fostering mutual understanding and friendship.
Oct. 4th〜12th – Civil Servant Exchange
Ten teachers and civil servants from Kamogawa visit Manitowoc and learn about Manitowoc’s public facilities and city administration.
Oct. 23rd〜26th – Manitowoc Student Art Exhibition
Thirty works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed along with artworks of Kamogawa students on the 4th floor of Kamogawa Flore.

July 20th〜Aug. 6th – Student Exchange Program
Six students from Kamogawa and five students from Manitowoc visit Manitowoc and Kamogawa, respectively. Students learn about sister city’s history and culture through visits of city facilities and stays with host families.
Sept. 28th〜Oct. 5th – 3rd Kamogawa Citizens’ Delegation Visits Manitowoc
Mayor Honda and thirty-seven delegates visit Manitowoc. While staying at a home-stay or hotel, delegates tour the city and plant ten cherry trees at the Rahr-West Museum. The sister-library relationship between Kamogawa and Manitowoc public libraries is finalized. Participants make roll sushi with rice they brought from Kamogawa and prepare tempura and Japanese soba for their Manitowoc hosts.

Nov. 3rd〜5th – 30th Annual Culture Day Exhibition at Civic Hall
Twenty works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with Kamogawa student art.
June 2nd〜10th – Manitowoc Musical Group Delegation, The Neustadters to Kamogawa
Manitowoc musical group, The Neustadters, visits Kamogawa and performs at Kamgoawa Sea Festa, elementary and jr. high schools, and Makuhari Messe.
July 9th〜14th – Manitowoc City Hall Dedication Ceremony
During a Kamogawa City Employee Delegation to Manitowoc, Mayor Honda, KIRA President Sakai, Vice President Karikomi and fourteen other members of the delegation attend the Manitowoc City Hall Dedication and present Manitowoc with a “maiwai” (traditional Kamogawa cloth painting).
July 20th〜Aug. 6th – Student Exchange Program
Six Manitowoc students and six Kamogawa students visit the facilities of Kamogawa and Manitowoc, respectively. While staying with host families, student learn about history and culture of sister city.
Sept. 6th〜14th – 3rd Manitowoc Citizens’ Delegation Visits Kamogawa
Forty-four delegates from Manitowoc visit Kameda Clinic, Kamogawa Sea World, Tojo Elementary, participate in the Godosai Festival, and harvest rice at the Oyama Rice Paddies. The delegation also plants sugar maples at Minnami no Sato and visits the Governor Domoto for the purpose of deepening mutual friendship and understanding.

Thirty-seven works of art by Manitowoc students are displayed with Kamogawa student art.
February – Friendship City Delegation Visit to Sanya, China.
To examine the possibilities of expanding on the friendship city relations with Sanya city, 21 delegates from Kamogawa visit Sanya to visit public facilities and businesses. Delegates also visit Sanya city government and hold a question/answer session to learn more about each other’s city.
July – Student Exchange Program
Six students from Kamogawa and six students from Manitowoc visit sister city to learn more about history and culture of sister.
September〜October – 4th Manitowoc Citizen’s Delegation Visits Kamogawa/Kamogawa Citizen’s Delegation Visits Manitowoc.
Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Sister City Relationship, the two cities’ delegation visits occur in the same year. Various celebration ceremonies and planting of memorial trees are held. Through home stays, visits to schools, participation in local festivals, the interaction between the citizens deepened and citizens renew the vow to further the sister city relationship.
