Tax records for visa renewal and other official purposes

The following table lists records that tax-related records and certification, necessary for visa renewal and other official uses. These records can be obtained from the Tax Division, located on the 1st floor of the City Hall. Please bring a photo ID, the processing fee, and any other items listed in the “What to Bring” column below.

Income Certification. Shotoku Shomeisho

What to Bring

Personal seal (inkan)

  • In the case for companies and institutions, you will need your organization's registered seal or a letter of attorney with the company's registered seal stamped on it (i'ninjo)
  • A letter of attorney is also required if a proxy is applying in place of person whose name is to be recorded on the certificate.
  • If applying for a temporary license plate number, you must present your driver's license, certification of vehicle inspection, and damage compensation insurance policy card.
