1. 雨が　たくさん　降ったり、風が　強く　吹いたり　しないか　調べます。

住んでいるところの　災害を　勉強します。

• 昔、どのくらい　強く　雨が　降ったか、山の　土や　砂が　落ちてきたことが　あるかなどを　勉強します。
• 住んでいるところで、昔　あった　災害を　勉強します。どのくらい　雨が　降ると、危ないか　わかります。

家族と　にげるところを　考えます。

1. 家族と　にげるところを　きめましょう。
   ＊にげる道を　いくつか　考えます。
   ＊家族が　仕事や　学校で　近くに　いないとき、どうやって　れんらくを　とるか　考えます。
2. 防災マップを　見ます。
   ＊土や　砂が　流れてくるところや　川の　近くで　たくさんの　水が　流れてくるところに　家が　あるとき、
   1. 親戚や　ともだちの　家に　行きましょう。
   2. 避難所＜にげるところ＞に　行きましょう。
3. 家族に　おとしよりや　赤ちゃん、小さい　子どもが　いるとき
   ＊ひとりで　にげられない人は、福祉課に　電話してください。（電話　04-7093-7112）

食べもの、飲みものを　家に　準備します。

いつも　家に　３日分の　食べもの、水が　あると　いいです。

にげるとき、持っていくものを　用意します。

非常持出袋〈災害で　にげるとき、持っていくリュックなど〉に　次の　ものを　入れます。

• 食べものや　水
• 薬
• お金や　パスポート・在留カード
• タオル
• マスク、体温計〈体の　ねつを　はかるもの〉
• 懐中電灯＜手で　持つ電灯＞
• ヘルメット＜上から　落ちるものが　あたまに　当たらないように　します。＞
• 携帯電話、充電器や　蓄電池
• 携帯ラジオ
• 毛布＜寝るときに　つかうもの＞
• 紙おむつや　ミルクなど
• スリッパ
  など

屋根や　家の　周りの　ものに　気を付けます

• 風で　屋根が　飛ぶと、大きな　けがを　するかもしれません。
• 台風が　来る前に　家に　雨が　入ってこないか、家の外の壁が　壊れていないか　調べます。
• テレビの　アンテナ、 自転車、花や　野菜が　植えてある箱などが　風で　飛ぶかもしれません。ロープで　とめたり、家の　中に　入れます。

雨が　たくさん　ふる前や　台風が　来る前に　排水設備〈水が　通るところ〉を　調べて、掃除します。

• 水が　通るところを　掃除します。雨が　たくさん　降って　水が　いっぱいになると、地下室・駐車場などが　使えません。
• ベランダの　排水溝〈水の　通るところ〉や　屋根の　パイプに　 落ち葉や　ゴミが　あると、水が　通りません。2階よりも　上に　水が　入るかもしれません。
• 水の　通るところを　調べて　掃除します。

川や　海の　近くに　住んでいる人は、《土のう》〈土や　砂を　入れた袋〉を　用意します。

• 海や　川の　近くの　家は、水が　入ってくるかもしれません。≪土のう≫を　使って、 水が　家の中に　入ってこないように　することができます。
• ≪土のう≫が　ないときは、ゴミ袋に　水を　入れます。それを　コンクリートブロックで　動かないようにします。また、ペットボトルに　水を　入れます。それを　ダンボールに　入れて　壁を　作ります。

にげる準備を　します。

雨が　とても　ひどいときや　台風の　とき、避難所が　開くかもしれません。
にげるとき、非常持出袋を　持っていきます。
あなたの　家が　危ないときで、家族や　友だちの　家が　安全なとき、そこに　にげます。避難所に　行かなくても　いいです。
家族や　友だちの　家に　行けない人は、避難所に　にげてください。

Heavy Rain and Typhoon Preparation

3. To receive important notice and valuable information, register to the accounts:

• Kamogawa City Line account
• Kamogawa Emergency Alert E-mail Service (alerts are only available in Japanese)

Study and learn from the history of disasters in the area.

• It is important to learn the history of disasters in your area. For example, which areas were affected by flooding or landslides during typhoons.
• Learning disaster that affected your area during the past years can help you prepare yourself for what may happen.

Discuss with your family on where to evacuate.

1. Decide on where your family will evacuate.
   ＊Look into road and ways you can use to evacuate.
   ＊Think of ways to communicate with your family in case where they are at work, or in school during disaster.
2. Check the Hazard Map.
   ＊Once you check the map and your house is located on areas where landslides and flooding occurs, please do the following:
   1. Stay with your relatives or friends for the time being.
   2. Go to evacuation sites.
3. When your family consistes of elderly, babies, or children.
   1. If you are not able to evacuate, please call the Welfare Division (Tel: 04-7093-7112).

Prepare Emergency Supply (Food and Drinks).

It is suggested that you have a prepared emergency supply of food and drinks enough for 3 days.

​What to bring while Evacuating:​

• Food and Drinking Water
• Any medicine you need
• Money, Passport, Foreign Residence Card
• Towel
• Masks, and a personal thermometer
• Flashlight
• Helmet (something to protect your head)
• Cellphone (and charger)
• Portable radio 
• Blankets (used when sleeping)
• For parents: Diapers,, milk, etc.,
• Slipper
• Others

Take care of the things in and around your house.

• Strong winds can cause things to blow around resulting in injury and accidents.
• Before the typhoon, check that water will not enter your house, or check that the walls outside are not damaged. 
• Tie TV antennas, bicycles, flowers or crops with rope or bring them inside as they may cause damage from blowing around.

Inspect and clean drains and gutters  before the typhoon.

• Blocked drains can result in water damage to roads and basement rooms. If the roads are flooded due to blocked drains, the roads may be closed. 
• Gutters blocked with trash or leaves can lead to flooding from rain water running off the roof.
• Take early action by checking and cleaning  drainage points around your house.

People living on ground floors should prepare sandbags, etc. 

• People on ground floors or near rivers should prepare sandbags to prevent or slow flooding if it occurs. 
• If you don’t have sandbags, you can try making “water bags” using plastic bags and water. Concrete blocks or large water bottles filled with water placed inside a cardboard box can also be used to form blocks. 

Preparing to Evacuate.

Prepare ahead of time! The evacuation centers may open during typhoons and heavy rain.

• When evacuating, bring your Emergency bagpacks.
• If your relatives and friends live in a safe area during the typhoon, evacuate there and stay with them for the meantime. 
• Those who are not able to evacuate to relative and friend's house, please go immediately to the evacuation site.
